The stiffer shaft geometry compared to an Olympic weightlifting bar reduces whip during maximal squat and deadlift attempts, providing a more stable loading profile under supramaximal loads. Aggressive knurling — including a centre knurl for back squat bar retention — is machined to competition depth across both inner and outer knurl zones. Bronze bushings provide smooth but controlled sleeve rotation appropriate for powerlifting movements where sleeve spin is undesirable.
